For stomach cramps, indigestion, flatulence, and nausea
Syrup:
1/2 cup peeled and sliced fresh ginger
1 cup purified water
1/2 cup pure maple syrup
1 cup carbonated mineral water
1 tablespoon fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 strip of lemon peel
For syrup:
Combine the sliced ginger and water and simmer for 30 minutes. Cool slightly, then strain. Add the maple syrup and stir to mix.
Stir 2 tablespoons of the syrup into the carbonated water until thoroughly mixed; refrigerate the remainder of the syrup for later use (can be kept in fridge for up to 6 months). Add the lemon juice and stir. Garnish with the lemon peel.
I made this for my grandmother when she had indigestion. She said it worked like a charm.
Fact: Ginger has been found effective in multiple studies for treating nausea caused by seasickness, morning sickness, and chemotherapy. Ginger is a safe remedy for nausea relief during pregnancy.
